Foaling can be a stressful time for mares and their owners. Charleston Park helps reduce the stress and risks of foaling
by providing a foaling-down service.
Our Foaling facilities include:
* Designated private paddocks & foaling boxes - extra large and with new sawdust
* Cameras on boxes which can be viewed from the main house
* Magic Breed Foaling alarms
* Vet on call
* Clean Nursery paddocks
* Foals are imprinted with the Monty Roberts imprinting technique (only with owners permission). Charleston Park
highly recommends this excellent service and have tried and tested on all foals they have bred.
Whilst no absolute guarantees can be given, it is our aim to provide a high standard of care that minimises the risks of
foaling to the mare and her foal.
Foaling down service - $350 (+ agistment)
At Charleston Park we start weaning foals around 5-7 months. When weaning we take the foal through a 2 week course
that enables them to become cooperative and introduces them to leading and human touch. Six months after this course
we bring them back into the box for a week for a small refresher course. This has proven to be a success for CK foals
and has allowed us to produce well educated and cooperative yearlings.
